In a world that expects you to just keep going, I'm glad that
you are here.
Hello! I'm Kaila, and I have been a registered massage therapist since graduating from Sutherland Chan in 2015. I am also a parent, a (novice) organic gardener/environmentalist, and and a gender studies graduate.
After a decade of practice, I opened my studio in the quiet, residential neighborhood of Fairbank, Toronto where I provide registered massage therapy for women, including LGBTQ+ women and nonbinary people, who are feeling the impacts of stress.
Because every woman I know is doing more than we as humans were designed to. You’re navigating the daily overstimulation of working and/or parenting in the big city, experiencing one of life’s many emotional and physical transitions, handling the big stuff — or, like many, you‘re doing all three.
And because experiencing stress is not a design flaw or a personal failing. It's a completely normal biological response when we are faced with challenge.
What's not normal is how much of it we are experiencing, and how little opportunity our bodies have to rest and recover.
My goal is to provide you with that space. As much as our bodies were built to respond to stress, they were also built to respond to touch. To safety. I designed my practice with that in mind — a clean, naturally lit, and non-judgmental space that centres your unique needs, preferences, and lived experience.
My practice is continuously evolving. I have additional training in trauma-informed care, craniosacral therapy, persistent pain, and infant and pregnancy massage. I also participated in a six month birth doula mentorship program.
Bodies of all varieties are welcomed here. My practice is a gender affirming space, and you can expect proper pronouns and gender neutral language around the body and its functions. (Yes, that includes the perinatal experience).
Acknowledging that health and wellbeing is dependent on social and environmental justice, 3% of all treatments go towards organizations working for environmental and social change. I support small, local businesses wherever possible, and take all possible measures to reduce my environmental footprint. Visit my sustainability page for more info.
The space is accessible via a short staircase. Please contact me in advance of your appointment if you need assistance taking the stairs.
There is free street parking available on Hartley Ave (1 hour only) and the surrounding streets. It is also well connected to transit via both the Dufferin and Eglinton buses.
Please note that I have a dog! While I do my best to ensure that the space is dander free through thorough cleaning and a HEPA filtered air purifier, people with pet allergies may want to consider this when booking.
I am more than happy to wear a mask for those who prefer or require this for accessibility. You will have an opportunity to request this when filling out your intake forms.
